J. Cole is a highly-popular rapper with a large fanbase. One of the reasons for his large support is how he treats his fans.

Surely there is no greater example of this than in 2022, when J. Cole attended a fan’s graduation.

Many people have questioned if this wholesome event is true – or just something made up to collect a few likes or reposts on social media. Fortunately, it is true!

Who is J. Cole?

Jermaine Lamarr Cole – known as J. Cole – is an American rapper. He has been active since the late 2000s, and has released multiple songs.

As Cole started becoming more popular, the number of his fans grew accordingly. But fortunately, he hasn’t let the fame get to him, and he remains grounded.

Cole and Cierra Borsage-Fussell

The story begins in 2013, when Cierra Bosarge-Fussell – a then teenage girl, called radio station Hot 107.9 in Philadelphia, hoping that Cole would wish her a happy birthday.

A few months later, Bosarge-Fussell received a birthday message from Cole. Cole went one step further and invited her to meet him in person.

Upon meeting, Bosarge-Fussell gave Cole a letter. In this letter was her life story. Cole read this letter, and it appeared to spark a strong friendship.

Bosarge-Fussell’s letter

Bosarge-Fussell spoke to Complex at the time, and said that “in the letter it says all I went through”. She continued by saying about how she had been adopted, her parents being addicted to drugs and being in and out of prison.

In the key moment – Bosarge-Fussell asked Cole if he would go to her graduation, since her parents couldn’t, due to their imprisonment.

Cole appeared to be very moved by the letter. He reached out to Bosarge-Fussell on Twitter, and said that if she got into college, he would go to her graduation.

Indeed, in 2015, Bosarge-Fussell was joined by Cole at her high school graduation, in a wonderful moment that touched many.

2022 Graduation

But Cole wasn’t done there. Seven years later, Cole re-appeared with Bosarge-Fusselll, this time attending her university graduation.

Cole attended Rowan University’s graduation ceremony. He took pictures with Bosarge-Fussell, who shared the photos on the internet.

You can see the photos below, as uploaded originally by Bosarge-Fussell. As she said, “we made it”!

So not only did Cole attend Bosarge-Fussell’s high school graduation, but also her university graduation. This shows he never forgets his fans!

The Takeaway

Wholesome stories are always welcomed at a time where there seems to be endless gloom and doom. The story of J. Cole attending a fan’s graduation will always be a happy one.

There is that old saying that you should never meet your heroes. In this case, Bosarge-Fussell made the right decision, with J. Cole again showing what a great man he is.
